ADVANCED LEVEL

Max, the most golden retriever-like Goldendoodle you’ve ever seen, was adopted into the Uplifting Paws training program at nine weeks old in the spring of 2017. He was donated by a local breeder. Liz immediately recalls his calm yet confident disposition even as a puppy. Max’s natural instinct to pick up items, such as his leash, started when he was just four months old. This was a major indicator for Liz that Max would be a mobility service dog.

Nearing his second birthday, Max has been hard at work training for his future owner. The star student has recently reached advanced level training; he will now start to hone in on specific tasks based on the owner’s needs. His most recently conquered task is opening a door, what a gentleman.

Max earned the nickname, The Teacher’s Pet, because of how responsive and hard-working he is. And he’s a bit of a show-off when it comes to learning new tasks and commands.

If all goes according to plan, Max is on schedule to go home with his future owner by this upcoming fall. The two will start meeting on a regular basis this spring in preparation for the fall. In order to preserve the privacy of the owner, there will be no personal information disclosed about the individual.
